The main focus area of my project is London as this is where I spent one of the lockdowns on my own. One of the things that kept me sane was going out for daily walks in the parks. I think the general idea about London is that ‘oh it’s a big city, you won’t find any wildlife there’. When actually, that couldn’t be further from the truth. London is a green city as about 48% of it is either river, vegetation or still water. The city supports nature spaces for wildlife of all kinds to live and thrive; algae, flowers, birds, mammals are all present.
